Thank you for spending your time learning more about the studio.. and myself. Below you’ll find a few questions/answers to help you gain further insight into why I LOVE to do what I do. Also, please feel free to browse a few family images and wedding outtakes too.
What 3 words describe your work? Creative. Stylized. Fun.
Why should someone hire you? I strive to invest my time, energy and talent into capturing timeless and fleeting moments for my bri
des and grooms. I find satisfaction in being a “friend with a fancy camera” rather than merely a stranger who takes photographs. Creating and cultivating relationships… and ultimately trust, is the key ingredient for me to capturing relaxed, fun and moving images.
What drew you to this field/how did you get started? It’s in the genes! My mom is an artist and from the beginning I was blessed with the ability to visualize and develop a style of what moved me. When I was 20, I began to realize that photography allowed me to capture my vision. Ultimately, photographing weddings allows me to combine my love of photography with my passion for people.
What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work? The ultimate creator, God. Any gift that I possess is ultimately a reflection of Him. My mom is a source of inspiration along with many other photographers that I admire as well.
Tell us about a favorite, unusual or most interesting moment at a wedding:One special moment comes to mind: The groom delivered a gift to his bride before the ceremony, (they weren’t seeing each other prior), after he handed over the gift, he reached around the door and merely held hands with his bride. It was a touching, moving and loving moment.
Tell us about a wedding you worked on that really makes you proud: I photographed an incredibly fun wedding for a television show called “Married Away” on the Style Network. A good friend, Mary Dann was the featured coordinator on this wedding. It was such a fun and intimate wedding (at Chateau Fairmont at Lake Louise, Canada). Over 3 days with 40 people, you really get to know each other!
What have weddings have taught you? I’ve learned that weddings are as unique as the people involved—this is what I love best! As a wedding photographer, staying aware, flexible and collected is essential.
What is the best advice you give to a couple when planning their wedding?Prioritize right from the beginning. Decide what is the most important aspect of the wedding—such as the photography, venue, florist, gown, etc.—and base your budget accordingly.
What are 3 words that describe your personality? Witty. Sincere. Engaging.
What’s your favorite TV show? I’m addicted to “The Office & Lost”.
What is your favorite quote? “Things may come to those who wait…but only the things left by those who hustle.” —Abraham Lincoln
Extracurricular Activities: Golf, golf, golf… I’m an addict to the extreme. I love basketball, baseball, hiking.. any sport really. Of course, photography is still a hobby for me too!
What’s your favorite way to wind down after a hard day? I love spending “romp” time with my two young sons, Jaden & Maddy.

My Beautiful Family
What a joy it is to have a loving, beautiful family to call my own! Sometimes I have to do a double-take and let it sink in. God has blessed my wife and I immensely. I have the incredible joy of capturing so many family portraits and documenting various families! Sometimes it’s a bit surreal to be on the other side… a special thanks to Peter Garr for taking the above image.

My georgeous wife! I’m a lucky guy…
I just celebrated my 5th Anniversary last November with my amazing wife Allena. She has the joy of taking care of our two sons, Jaden (4) and Maddox (2.5). When not cleaning up after the “boys” Allena enjoys creating appliques for her boutique baby clothes business Rags & Ruffles. (She’s also quite skilled with the camera too.. the two image below of my sons and I were taken by Allena.)

Jaden & Daddy
Here is a great image of my oldest son Jaden (4). Jaden loves going to school, learning new things and ESPECIALLY helping in the kitchen. He also loves playing Baseball, Golf and Soccer…basically anything involving throwing and hitting in any form. Jaden is a beautiful boy blessed with heavenly blue eyes.. some of my favorite images of him capture this feature.

Maddy & Daddy
My youngest son Maddox (2.5) is turning out to be quite the character. His personality is really shining through these days… he’s such a handsome little guy and it’s so fun to hear his little voice utter new words daily. I love playing, reading and romping with this little guy. He usually spends his time defending his body and toys from his big brother Jaden. Oh, and one other thing.. he LOVES to eat!
The two images above were taken by my fearless assistant/photographer Meghan Meyer. Meghan also assists me in the studio from time to time as well.. thanks Meg!
The above image is a great example of the abuse my suit takes on a regular basis! Thanks Asgeir…

Hello, I think you were the photographer at my friend, Nancy Ennabe’s wedding. I have seen her pictures and I really love your work. I’m getting married on May 26, 2013, in Sonoma, California. While I don’t think it would make sense for you (or my budget) to come up to Sonoma to photograph our wedding, I was hoping you might have a good suggestion or reference for photographers in the Northern California area. If so, I would greatly appreciate it.
It’s funny, as I’ve been looking at websites for different photographers to find one that I thought stood out, I found myself thinking that it was very difficult to tell one wedding photographer from another. However, when I saw Nancy pictures on her Facebook account, I really liked your pictures a lot, and thought that they were different than the rest. So kudos to you! And it’s too bad that you’re not in the Sonoma area! Thanks in advance for your help, but if you don’t have any references no worries at all.
Sincerely,
Ami
