This wedding was just plain FUN from beginning to end; from the adorable couple, the bridal party and all the way down to Whitney & Pat’s adorable pooch “The Toast!” On a gorgeous Sunday at the end of May, I had the privileged of photographing Whit & Pat’s amazing wedding at Orcutt Ranch Horticultural Center in West Hills. The Ranch is a scenic spot nestled among citrus orchards, large oaks and botanical gardens. The property also features a 1920′s adobe style residence, giving it a historical, early California feel, which offered a beautiful backdrop for inspiring images.
When I arrive on the scene, the first thing I typically do is make my way to the Bride’s room. I love starting early and grabbing details such as the flowers, rings and shoes. I also really love capturing “real moments” and just simply telling the story… For this wedding it was really easy! Whitney was just glowing with excitement and looked radiant in her gown. Pat looked quite charming in his own right, of course. However, as good as they looked separately, together they were simply electric! And, they pretty much did anything I asked with a willing spirit, which is a GREAT recipe for amazing images! (take a look)
The details & decor at this wedding had a rustic, yet elegant feel with many eclectic details. The highlight for me was the “old fashioned” photo booth with picture frame, hanging chandelier and mirror. The day rolled along smoothly with help from Kara Dykert & team from Willow Events. Also, make-up artist Karin Giron did a fabulous job. Also, thanks to Kyle Ellis for assistance! To view my portfolio, please click here.
