Trisha & John’s Engagements

I LOVE shooting in downtown L.A.! On Sunday I spent the afternoon with Trisha & John, my Nov 20th wedding couple. We started shooting at the L.A. Library, near Cafe Pinot. From there we enjoyed almost a deserted downtown area! We walked around and through the historic streets & under the impressive umbrella of high-rise buildings. Ultimately, it was so much fun working with Trisha & John.. I loved their fun attitude and carefree spirits, which definitely reflects in some of the images below.

Julie & David’s Engagements

Here are some images from Julie & David’s engagement session! This last Monday we started shooting at the Getty Villa in Malibu, Ca. This is an amazing location full of beautiful, ornate features: hallways, pools, frescas etc.. unfortunately we didn’t stay long enough to thoroughly explore all of this. We were escorted out, much to my surprise, after about 20 minutes of shooting. Fortunately, we took that all in stride and made our way to the scenic state beach of Leo Carrillo. From there, the session had a bit more of a casual, fun feel as we made our way through the cliffs, coves and inlets that are part of the Leo Carrillo’s natural, beautiful landscape.

This last Saturday I photographed Lauren & Erik’s wedding in one my favorite cities to shoot in, Pasadena, Ca. The day started in nearby Arcadia at Lauren’s parents house and ended at the University Club in Pasadena. Lauren made things very easy on me right from the beginning… looking radiant and very photogenic. After the ceremony at St. Philip Apostle Church, I escorted the bride & groom to the area surrounding Pasadena’s City Hall (one of my favorite places to shoot).

Shooting a wedding at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu is quite nostalgic for me. This was my first “wedding photography” experience as a budding photographer more that 12 yrs ago. I photographed Kara & Eric’s wedding recently and have some great images I’d love to share! We actually started shooting at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza where both the bride & groom were getting ready. After grabbing details, toasts & the “bridal transformation” we were off to Calamigos. The ceremony was lush and beautiful, in a garden like setting. I also had the joy of working with Melissa Laudise of Let’s Do This event planning & coordinating. Enjoy…

Here is another super-fun family session! This session took place at the Neighborhood Church in Palos Verdes… a beautiful location with panoramic views of the Pacific. I had the pleasure of capturing Amber’s maternity session in early 2009, so it was great to get reacquainted and also finally meet & photograph little Greyson. I loved the outfits that Greyson wore for the session.. full of character & style! Additional thank you to Meghan Lubeck who assisted & captured several incredible images as well.

Oh Baby! Ava

I’ve had the pleasure of watching little Baby Ava go from a delicate, little newborn to a scrumptious baby girl full of laughs and smiles. Last week I made a trip to Manhattan Beach to photograph Ava… The session started when I snuck into her room to get photographs on her changing table. The moment I saw her laying there I started snapping pics.. she was so amazingly cute! Thank you to “mommy” Heather for giving me the joy!

This was an incredibly fun shoot… I had the pleasure of working with Deborah Gear from Deborah Gear Interior Design Studio and Jenny Barker from Magical Blooms. They put together 4 fabulous table designs. The session took place at the beautiful Occasions venue in El Segundo. Each tablescape had it’s own unique feel and theme… It was a joy to be able capture details, floral expressions and the artistry of these 2 talented professionals. Baby Breckin

I had the pleasure of meeting little Baby Breckin for the first time last Friday. This family have been great clients for me. We photographed mom & dad’s wedding 10+ years ago and have captured every one of their children as newborns. I did this photography session at my studio and loved the results! The top image is probably my favorite. I LOVE the way Breckin’s brother and sister’s are admiring his baby-ness. The image at the bottom is fun too. Breckin was born on St. Patrick’s Day, hence the appropriately placed Shamrocks!

Earlier in the month I had the joy of photographing Carina & Alex’s wedding in Burbank, CA. It was an absolute privilege and honor to be asked to capture this wedding for them. It was obvious to myself and everybody present that Carina & Alex have a very special relationship. I felt an incredible sense of honor and respect between them and their families.. and I hope I was able to capture this touching element! This wedding was also special for me because I photographed Alex’s parent’s vow renewal wedding a few years ago. I remembered Alex from this event and was overjoyed when he called me about his own. I started shooting at the Martinez residence and then onto The Castaway restaurant for the ceremony and reception. Also thank you to Meghan Lubeck for the wonderful assistance.
