I love Santa Monica, period. Add in the ultra-swanky vibe of Casa del Mar and you’ve got yourself the makings of an incredible wedding day! It also helps to have a stunning bride and groom, of course. On this special day, all the necessary elements were perfectly in line and all I had to do was simply capture the beauty. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Jamie & Bennett, their friends and gracious family. Please enjoy the images below as they provide small glimpses into their wonderful day.

Here are a few of the talented vendors I worked with:

Venue – Casa Del Mar

Planner – Maryam Forutan / Delicate Details

Florist – BeBuds Florist

Where do I begin? I know I often express how I excited I get when the opportunity comes to work with my wonderful couples, and this is no exception! From the first moment Renee dropped by my studio to meet, she was bursting with excitement for her wedding… and the photography. From that moment on I knew GOOD things were going to happen!

On this particular day, the weather was a little strange for mid-July in Southern California. It was hot and muggy with clouds and drizzle. Yes, I said drizzle! On my way down South on the parking lot known as the 405 I truly had a few doubts about the “tropical storm” around us. That being said,  years of experience also told me that incredible circumstances can come out of strange weather. Sure enough, upon arriving in the coastal Long Beach area, there were breaks in the sky and incredible light (a photographer’s best friend) to work with.

We started shooting in Long Beach, finding beautiful homes surrounded by channels of water, cozy walkways and friendly folks with even friendlier animals! We even borrowed “Louie the dog” for a few pics below! I’m guessing possibly one of the cutest little pooches I’ve ever seen. After spending some time here it was off to San Pedro where an incredible spectacle of water, music and  a “very pink” sunset capped off a fun-filled day. Pretty good for an adventure that started with clouds, drizzle and a tail-pipe burn (that’s a story for a different day!) It was a joy to spend this time with Renee & Eric and I can’t wait for their wedding! Enjoy a few of my faves  🙂

On Saturday June 30th I woke up, ate my proverbial Wheaties and then spent the next 20 or so hours photographing Nancy & Iyad’s incredible wedding! I had been looking forward to this day for some time as I’ve already photographed two of Nancy’s sister’s weddings in the past and have become pretty much adopted by the family 🙂  That being said, there’s no wedding quite like an Ennabe wedding… their love for photography is only surpassed by the extent of their warmth and graciousness!

I started shooting with my team of Greg & Kyle under a canopy of blue skies in Diamond Bar, CA. The plan was simple: capture ornate details, sparkling diamonds and an abundant supply of fun and laughter. After an enthusiastic procession of the groom’s family to Nancy’s house, followed by a host of traditional elements, we journeyed to the stunning St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church in Los Angles, CA. After meaningful vows and the seal of a kiss I journeyed with the Bride & Groom to L.A.’s Union Station for a bit and then it was off to the party (reception doesn’t quite cut it) at the Marriott in Downtown L.A.

Upon arriving at the hotel, I was greeted with a stunning ballroom and a beaming bride taking in a fairytale view. At this point, the day was literally JUST beginning! From here on out it was all about some serious celebrating. Please enjoy some of my favorites below!

I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again… I love my job! Emily and Oliver’s wedding was insanely fun to photograph and be a part of. It had all of the elements that make a great wedding day: Pristine weather, plenty of laughter and stunning locations. Once again I had the privilege of documenting a touching wedding at the Athenaeum Club in Pasadena, CA. For those that are seeking a wedding venue that provides a classic, old-world Pasadena feel coupled with an intimate atmosphere and friendly staff… this is the place!

On this particular day, everything was clear sailing especially with the lovely planner Samantha Sisk (La Bella Dia Events) guiding the day along. Emily & Oliver’s vows took place at the San Marino Community Church and then it was back to the Athenaeum for food, cocktails and an awesome party. Please enjoy a few of my favorites below as I’m sure they convey the true beauty of this day better than I can elaborate 🙂

Talk about HOT! I recently traveled out to the California desert oasis known as Palm Springs for Erick & Esveidet’s wedding. I love the climate out there, even with the 100F + summer heat… it boasts clean air, clear skies and plenty of golf courses (definitely a plus). It also is home to many wonderful resorts and venues as well. Equally smokin’ was the combination of bride & groom that I had to work with that day. It was truly a fun day as my team and I soaked up some sun, played with our cameras a little and captured a wonderful wedding day for Erick & Esveidet while we were at it. Please enjoy a few faves of this steaming couple 🙂

I LOVE my job! It’s as simple as that… to be able to have a front row seat while witnessing and capturing some of life’s most precious moments is truly an honor. A wedding has everything that is truly cherished in life: amazing friends, loving family and true commitment (the ultimate act of love).

That being said, when Erika and Hunter invited me to document their wedding I was ecstatic. I wasn’t too surprised however, as I really felt a good connection when we met in the studio, which for me is essential. The wedding ceremony and party were both held at The Athenaeum Club in Pasadena, CA which is really like a 2nd home for me these days. I always enjoy the phenomenal vendors and professionals that I get to work with on an Athenaeum wedding.

The wedding day unfolded with strong emotion and a sense that this was a very special day on many levels. I think my favorite aspect was just anticipating (and capturing) those real, natural moments of interaction between the bride and groom.

I had the pleasure of working with planner Emma Petievich who guided the day along with a friendly, steady hand. Also, catering manager Dior Chase created an atmosphere of relaxed sophistication, as always.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy!
